Thanks Guys! Those links are very helpful, especially the
ADR link. No doubt the fund route is the way to go if your goal
is diversification. Also, for short term investing, the fund route
makes sense because of the narrow spreads and ability to margin.
I've seen 20-25% spreads on these banking adrs at times and it takes your breath away. Yet, if you really want to play it full out, I believe a direct investment is the way to go. I was buying Siam Commercial Bank as low as $.19 (trust me, I have a chunk at higher prices too) a share a month or so ago. It priced at $.72 last
night. Now that's real money. If you truly believe in this sector, then buying the actual stocks makes sense as diversification will dilute your returns. More risk...more reward. Its not for everyone, I'm well aware.
