Joe, Jesse has mine too. I went over to Novell's site where it plans to build the new campus. Well, no building activity yet, but the location is a very friendly 15 minute walk to Cisco's beautiful, amazing campus. It is a few short stops on the Light Rail system, which runs in front of the new site and Cisco. And three minutes by auto, unless you hit a red light.

Not that this makes for good takeover speculation at all. It doesn't. But Cisco likes to buy local companies. Afterall, it paid $4B for Stratacom and it was located in S.J. Double that and look what you can get--NOVL. Granted, most of Novell is in Utah, but they seem to have a large presence here. (Captain Bob was a San Jose State man you know).

Cisco really does things right. The company has the energy and the vision to renovate Novell. Did I mention their market cap is $60B?

I have been following Novell as a merger prospect for well over a year. Is it worth waiting another year for? When to say when? Maybe I should start a local chapter of Novell Anonymous--People who have invested too much in Novell and want to get out, but don't want to walk away from a big loss, what with a takeover just around the corner <G>.

: ) RM
