John Glenn was,after my dad, my HERO
Being a kid in the 60's we had a lot of everything, hippies, drugs, the beatles,Mickey Mantle, Kruczchev,JFK, Marilyn,erector sets, G.I.Joe, air raid drills, and of course the war.But the one thing that always stood out in my mind was the space race. John Glenn for that one magical day was more than that,he was every american boy's hero. I remember watching on a black and white 20' tv at school it was so very important. Nothing I've ever seen will match that. My family and I have had the honor of watching lift offs and landings, even piggybacking in, having a business in cocoa beach helps.. So on this friday night as my childhood hero cirles the globe, I think I'll kiss my little girl and wonder, where I've been, how far we've come and where has all the time gone.
