W-CDMA will require swapping out the RF equipment

Gregg, Can't one operate a GSM air interface along side a CDMA air interafce and have both coupled to the same network infrastructure? Isn't this what Qcom does with their Newbury equipment? Also, how's that different than GSM and CDMAone operating in the same territory? All those nifty 6190's and 9000's will still work after 3G's installed.

Isn't Ericsson only stalling to get their cdma RF working as good as or better than the Q's Newbury equipment? Maybe engineer or Clark can answer these questions.

The "Story of Pug" was cute and encouraging. Thanx. nf

Mika, I think you mentioned something about a GSM/CDMA phone. I thought Clark had previously stated that that wasn't economical on the cost and battery front. This may change over time, but surely other more pressing engineering challenges are on the plate of GSM engineers. Please correct me, if I miss read your words.
