t,
First off, if I were a new investor (assuming I have no clue at all) I wouldn't even know what DJT means, therefore, I would not even start buying indices. I would start by looking at individual stocks.

The way I see it is the more the euphoria is felt in the market, the harder the truth is to be seen. Like a rubberband, if the market gives up a bit now, it's a healthy sign which gives a rest to the elasticity of the rubber; if it keeps going up mainly due to manipulation by the institutions, it is not only going to snap but also slap on the faces or burn the fingers.

At this point, I am only long a few small caps. I don't play indices.

Wonder if I answered your question.
