Best BS excuse I have ever seen:
It was on a sign being held by a beggar outside a post office in California.

"Please help me get back home to Sue Falls, South Dakota. Any size contribution would help."

I was born on the other side of South Dakota but even at age 8 or 9 I knew Sioux Falls didn't have the spelling he used for his 'hometown'.
