Dan, Spots,

Ha! I've run for months, maybe years with covers off. Sure is nice and quiet when I finally vacuum out the guts and put the covers on! This morning I was telling my 2-year not to touch the metal parts because of HOT current. She can now identify a hard drive by sound - but she got scared after she knocked over two empty cases ... from the inside. <g>

Yeah, I think noise AND DUST are the reasons to cover the 'puters. And probably small children. The dust and children require whole-house solutions - so my covers will go back on. By the new year anyway. <g>

Paul

P.S. A new future project joins the list: white noise reduction!
