- 1998 Annual General Meeting

Greg Neeld, President and CEO of Hawkeye Gold Corporation (the "Company") , is pleased to announce that the Company's 1998 Annual General Meeting will be held in Vancouver, B.C., Canada on November 9, 1998. Due to market conditions the Company will ask its shareholders to approve a 5:1 consolidation of the Company's shares and a name
change to Hawkeye Mining Corporation, or such other name as may be approved by the directors and acceptable to the VSE. Currently, there are 5,280,314 shares issued and outstanding. 1,056,063 shares would be issued and outstanding on a post-consolidation basis.

The proposed capital alteration and name change is subject to the consent of the VSE.

Item two at the AGM will include a move to change the name to Hawkeye Diamond Corporation which makes little sense to me. Can't even afford to pay to compile the historical data on this piece of Alberta property and we are suddenly going to be a Diamond Company just in time to see the Gold market recovery I suspect. My opinion mind you.
