TD, I have a hard time believing you have been lurking on this thread for an extended period of time (you only started posting recently) since if you had you would understand some of the issues I and others on this thread have with gc. So if you want to jump in feel free...but jump in on the issues rather than jumping all over me when you don't understand that this is a personal issue with gc.

I'm not a PSFT cheerleader by a long shot....with respect to the stock price that is. Though last year (1997) I was. In fact, I said on this thread that the stock would see 40 again while others were saying it was going to 80 or 90 earlier this year. Since I happen to understand this market segment Ihad noticed that license fees were declining and knew it was only a matter of time until the market realized this. Which they did.

Here's the difference though....I never gloated, said I told you so, you're stupid, etc.etc. to everyone else. I let gc do all that. And though I had sold my stock I feel I always have continued to make meaningful contributions to this thread and will continue to do so.

With respect to sebl. Yes, I guess you could call me a cheerleader. But to think I would ever want ttf off the thread is just about the most ludicrous thing you've ever said. I love having ttf on that thread. Who wants a one sided thread anyway. Plus....ttf actually knows what he's talking about since he actually has experience in this industry. I might not agree with him but that's what makes things just a little more interesting.

This thing with gc isn't about User Conferences and analytical applications. It's about him. It's just the public personna he displays. He is totally arrogant and obnoxious...and never supports his facts. Also note....I suggested that if he must post here stick to the stock price and his predictions vs. commenting on UC's and new products about which he knows nothing.

He said, btw, the User Conference is a non event. I agree. What I said is that we won't know that for sure until it occurs depending on what is announced there and whether it becomes an event. There is a great deal of speculation on the yhoo thread btw, that there will be some big announcements. So you really aren't in a position to know either at this point. Nor am I.

I agree with all your other points, btw. Except for the fact that we don't know what PSFT's future plans are. I know that Dave Duffield knows what happened to the legacy vendors because they couldn't move quickly with technology. If not for that there wouldn't even be a PSFT today. So I doubt he will let that happen to PSFT. Technology is changing and there was a discussion about that recently on this very thread. Do you really think that people here know more than PSFT does??

In closing let me just say one more thing.....Yesterday I mentioned that I had bought scop last year. I actually liked sebl better. But I didn't buy sebl because of the negativity on that thread being spread by you, Clam, Shege, Farber and the "we hate Tom Siebel" crowd. Once I joined that thread there was a period of time where I was the only regular participant with anything positive to say about sebl. Everyone else was saying vntv is the stock to own. Need I say more. So call me a cheerleader if you like. Just do it on the right thread.
