I've heard this "yanks don't care" spiel before. I don't buy it. I believe in the "yankee see, yankee do" theory. Europeans care about weight, design and standby times, Asians care about them, Australians care about them and South Africans care about them. Give American consumers some time to compare the models and the market forces will prevail. Inferior products are always pushed out sooner or later.

If you are saying that two ounces and six days of standby time are of no concern to average consumer, how come there have been 2 month waiting lists for certain Nokia models in stores I have visited here? How come the salesman told me that if I get on the list and don't come to get the phone the day it arrives I lose it? Is this the case with every manufacturer or is the demand for Nokias outstripping the supply by so much that consumers are willing to put up with this kind of treatment just to get the phones? Remember that Nokia's volumes are surging to 5 million units this year in USA... the production ramp-up is being executed flawlessly. Yet the demand can't be met. This is a clear sign of competitive edge Nokia phones have.
