Hi Zax, yes I would not be the least bit surprised that the motley fool is actively telling people not to short Amazon. After all, I'm sure the "fool" holdings of Amazon shares is much greater than the small amount listed in the portfolio.

The fraud regarding Amazon is reaching stratospheric proportions, and sooner or later the SEC is going to crack down. Until that point, all these pimps (brokerages and the motley fool in particular) will keep pumping and dumping for every dime they can get.

The business relationship of Amazon and The Motley Fool will never be known because The Motley Fool is a private company. They could be getting stock options in compensation for touting the stock and we would never know.

That article you just posted was absolutely amazing. I am surprised the motley fool would participate in such corruption- I have never seen any brokerage or entity to go through the trouble of including fliers with monthly statements that say "do not short this, just buy buy buy".. Isn't that borderline illegal? Don't they have to disclose any position before making such statements?

In any case, nothing surprises me any more. The pimps have no shame, and they're going to keep on keeping on until someone from the SEC slaps the shiny bracelets on a few promotors.. They just did it with 44 other analysts who were hyping small-cap internet scam stocks, do you really think they're going to ignore the MASSIVE scams such as Amazon for long?
