Just happened to be cruisin a bit and saw John Embry's name of the Royal Bank of Canada. He is a former client of mine and a wonderful guy - bright, etc.
You talk about the " commonly 8,000 tonnes. With all due respect, this was heresay,just awhile back. Only Frank Veneroso,who did painstaking homework, has officially come out with this number ( with proper documentation ). That I can assure you.
I do not know if Frank is right, but I think he is. As regards who is the shorts,I know they are producers, speculators ( hedge funds ) and jewelry fabricators. I have been there, and done this. When the tide tide turns, which should be soon, it will not not matter, who is short and why. It, the cry, will be COVER.
