Let it be duly noted for the record, I recorded that there is going to be a tremendous backlash against the Republicans on Tuesday. They have been demonstrably unfair to Bill Clinton and clearly intent, in the most partisan way, to impeach him from office and to embarrass him in the process.

I have voted Republican many times in the past, but never again. I believe I represent a great number of people who consider these methods and tactics worse than the worst days of Joseph McCarthy in the 50s. Starr, Gingrich, and Hyde are sanctimonious hypocrites. Starr defends tobacco companies, for example. Can you get a worse do-anything to win kind of liar than that? Gingrich has pled guilty to perjuring himself to the House Ethics Committee. Hyde had his own sex affair, and I doubt he was completely truthful about it all these years before he chose to disclose it. Which congressman or senator is free of sin? Which one hasn't lied. We don't have saints up there! For some of them to now wring their hands and practice their worried frowns over someone lying about a sexual affair is sickening.

Do the Republicans want to copy the Chinese Cultural Revolution now, so that not only do we kick them out of office but we march them down the street in disgrace in dunce caps and placards with all their sins listed? That they profess so much shock, shock I tell you, over this is disingenuous politics. Passing legislation is secondary to their main objective. It is clear what they want is humiliation!

They are going to tear the country apart with this just to get even for Nixon's resignation. They have no sense of shame (releasing the complete and one sided grand jury testimony as fast they could, refusing to give the Presidents a list of charges for the impeachment process, using illegal wiretaps, leaking grand jury information to the press, and on and on and on) or balance or any consideration about what they are doing in order to try to get him impeached.

Clinton did what he did and it is a matter for him to resolve with his family. The Republicans are ruining the governmental process to exploit what they think is an opportunity. The response to any dispute henceforth is going to be a dirty tricks attempt to impeach.

I predict it will backfire on them big time and for many years to come. I, for one, will never vote for a Republican again, unless he clearly disavows his parties actions in this matter. It is disgraceful and they all should be ashamed. The Republican leadership will find out soon just how many people feel the same way.
