Leibo, I'm not surprised at the quick executions. LGND volume is
expanding and there were 403 executions yesterday. 3 were large blocks
12,500 to 25,000 and about 10 were in the 5,000 share range. When the
spread squeezes down to 1/8, there's usually a great deal of liquidity.
LGND is definitely building momemtum. I had calls from big boys who
were definitely pumped and I don't think that the heavy duty buying
has begun yet. The technicians should really be salivating now and
I'm sure that day traders love the action and upcoming news. Of course
day to day or hour to hour predictions are difficult (I don't do
any short term trading), but for the long term, LGND certainly looks
like a slam dunk. Their two lead retinoids alone are in about 30
clinical trials and I expect ALRT1550 to generate similar or greater
numbers (it is most like tretinoin and isotretinoin regarding
receptor specificity and those two compounds are in at least 30
trials - probably more since I only saw cancer and premalignancy
trials). LGND's pipeline is fantastic and barring some very unexpected
data or a major buyout, a long term play seems to be a slam dunk.
