At these prices Motorola could be a better play. What do you think?
There are modems and then there are modems.
I believe a comparison will put CMTO way out in front in terms of advances in synchronous data flow, guaranteed bandwidth, security, and other features.
I forget the timing exactly, but it wasn't more than a year ago Motorola tried to sell off its cable division. I've not checked to see who their customers are, but before making an investment decision, I'd want to find out.
I agree the big boys will grab the lion's share of the market, and I honestly don't expect CMTO to stay independent for long.
Of course, I could be wrong.

For a pure play in cable systems I wouldn't choose MOT. As for CSCO and COMS, I doubt they're pure plays, though they may provide serious competition.
