I guess I was most interested in the idea that major banks may be at great risk by having financed balanced positions in the belief that they will be able to meet their obligations when the holders of the losing positions pay what they owe. Perhaps there are better--more lucid and logical--explanations of the risks that supposedly hedged positions offer.
