HERZLIA, Israel--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 7, 1997--Teledata Communications (NASDAQ:TLDCF) today announced the company has received a $7.2 million order for its CTLOOP Pair Gain System from a current European customer. Deliveries will commence in March 1997 and are expected to be completed by the end of the year. The CTLOOP is an advanced pair gain system capable of connecting 10 telephone lines over one copper pair through the use of HDSL technology. The CTLOOP adds to the efficiency of the existing copper wire systems, enabling telecom operators to rapidly increase the number of customers they can serve. Teledata CEO Joseph Atsmon said the company's CTLOOP was chosen by the European customer because of its compliance with international safety standards and its sophisticated network management system. Atsmon added: "This order reinforces Teledata's strategy of providing its customers with customized, reliable, advanced integrated systems. Our CTLOOP has certainly proven itself with our customers, and large reorders such as this contribute significantly to our revenues. We expect to continue gaining market share." Teledata designs, develops, manufactures, markets and supports products for integration in the "local loop" of telephone networks (the portion of the network that links individual subscribers to a local exchange). Teledata's products allow telephone companies to serve greater numbers of subscribers with their existing infrastructure, without the need to invest significant sums in upgrading existing transmission links. Teledata's products are used by more than 30 telecom operators in their public networks.
