[Lateline News (lateline.muzi.net): 4/16/98] East China's Shandong Province plans to spend 72 billion yuan (US$8.7 billion) on building new roads in the next five years. The investment will be mainly used in building 36 trunk roads and expressways, China Daily reported, quoting provincial Vice-Governor Han Yuqun. Upon completion, the total mileage of expressways in Shandong will be extended from the existing 800 kilometres to 2,642 kilometres.
