Thanks for the answer MB. My second question passed yours in the mail, and I think you already answered it. I do think it is an interesting general proposition whether one is "already long the market" with other exposures to the economy. I doubt many financial planners would look at the hardware store owner and say, "Well since your hardware store makes you long the market, you should buy 200,000.00 in oex puts".
