Sorry to talk about the Aztec analogy again, but it's pretty relevant. Cutting off a victim's skin and wearing it as a "costume" was a sacrifice to the corn god Xipe Totec. It was considered a symbol of regeneration and hope, not evil vengeance. Brutal, but they thought a little different in the old days. The MTEI experience surely is an eye-opening experience for a lot of us, and exposing all the nooks and crannies of how this worked is a pretty important rite of passage for each of us. Chip
