bought the stock @ 18 in 1984 does not make the stock 18 with to day's
prices. After all you have twice the # of shares to day, no? Am I missing something?

That's why all charts in the universe are adjusted for splits. I don't have to fax you any charts, you don't have to fax anybroker confirms. You can get a monthly chart anywhere on the net showing a low of below 10 Jan 1984, but if you have trouble finding them, I will be glad to fax them to you.

But when you say stock was not 10 in 1984, rational people think of
adjusted for split prices, look at a chart and see what the price was
then. That's why no-one publishes charts unadjusted for splits.
