RE: Intel earn an extra billion Probably, if 99 is as good as it looks. Besides, it doesn't have to, since it doesn't owe a billion long term as tiny AMD does. As to investing in a mutual fund, do you have any in mind that would earn 25%? Poor old Intel just invests in cats and dogs like Micron and gets a 10 percent return in a few weeks. Maybe Intel should invest a few hundred million in AMD (and get a seat on the board too!).
