Patrice, Re the article - it sounds just like Jordan , in all his time with this corp he has been accused of not being able to managers to perform and hold them accountable. Almost all assets sold were profitable within a short period - This is the complaint of many old Westinghouse employees - I am not one, that all Jordan did was sell and buy assets , he never could manage anything. IMO Jordan did an OK job for what he started with, and that was not much.
Re CBS: I do not think that I am in love with this stock, I certainly cannot sell it until next year at least because of the capital gains taxes. I do belive that it can go to the 40's in the next 6 months without too much trouble. When Karmazin shows that he means to make the network profitable the stock will rise quickly.
To quote Karmazin the reason the network is not profitable is that they are not controlling their costs. I am ashamed of CBS that it pays the likes of Rather and Gumbel 6 million each. How many newscaster at CNN do you think are paid 6 million each? I would think that Turner and Karmazin are two chips off the same block.
