Are we too one-sided? Like most of you, I am not a fan of AOL. But, I wonder whether we aren't doing each other a disservice in our investing. Let's face it. We are a biased sample of internet users. People who like AOL are probably using the Motley Fool board to discuss investment, not Silicon Investor. (If I am wrong in my assumption, please tell me.) Therefore, for the most part, we are preaching to our own flock. The future of AOL does not depend on us. For the most part, we have already made our decision. But, think about all the consumer items that the masses have bought into for which you would not pay a dime. My point is that I hope the relative one-sidedness of the discussion here is not causing us to make poor investment decisions. I own puts (because there were no shares available for shorting at the time), but I want to be the first to know if I am wrong. My advice is that we make this the most pleasant place in the world for AOL bulls, so we are always hearing the other side.
