rudedog: RE: CPQ and the other majors would not have much interest in making a market in junk 486 boxes. I think Intel believes they are offering value to a particular segment and using 486 in some of these one-function thin servers. It's not somewhere out there, either. Paul's September post gives a good glimpse. If Intel is going to make all these products work in all these segments, the marketing is going to have to be segmented as well. So far, I haven't seen enough of that. The Marketing bunch won kudos for "Intel Inside" but let's see what they do when they are fighting battles on all fronts. At least they are leading the charge and not completely defensive. dmf
