Greg, and All,
I was not suggesting that T shouldn't move to a mixed service bag. Of course they will need to move into residential data and internet access, [maybe] video, etc., regardless of whom they wind up getting married to.
Forsooth! They should do so with all dispatch, provided they are doing it on their own network.
I think that I may have been unclear in my original post. Permit me to clarify what I was suggesting.
ATT appears to be pouring money into an HFC infrastructure in large amounts, prematurely, IMO, before their deal with TCOMA has actually been approved. This, IMO, could be construed as reckless and very risky business, since the deal may still be blocked by the regulators or the DOJ, or whomever wishes to tie them up for any period of time.
Could they then, in that event, be left holding these assets without the recourse of compensation from anyone if the deal falls through? Please let me know if I am still unclear about this..
