The point you are constantly missing is that
the price is not the main factor in server's
business. The absolute performance is an
ultimate factor, with scalability. There are
also other parameters as how well a server holds
overflow of requests, which is not measured by
your TPC. If a server cannot do a peak job
to satisfaction, it is useless, and has to be
scaled up to do the job. I suspect that some 486
machines may have the best price/performance
ratio as measured by the TPC, but so what?
