Hughes in Vancouver It's 1973 and Howard has not been seen in public since 1968. Mormons have protected him from the baleful public eye sheparding Howard from his Las Vegas casinos to Salt Lake City and now to Vancouver to the Bayshore Hotel a whole floor overlooking Coal Harbour - seaplanes, ferries, world's biggest sulphur piles sunshine and rain, simultaneously. Howard Hughes looks out and says "Let's not black out the windows here" and Mormons reply "Mr Hughes, the TV stations will send helicopters, The Press, Mr Hughes" and tinfoil covers all the windows and Howard Hughes is never seen again.
