Unfortunately, when SGI notifies us that their earnings won't be as expected, the "Street", whatever the hell that is (nominations welcome!) decides that the sales of all computers in the universe will probably cease immediately, if not sooner! At least, as some form of rational/educated/informed thought starts taking over, "IT" seems to decide that only those companies who make products like SGI's will suffer. Which means, in our case, SUNW.

I really don't like the weakness of Sun lately. (That is, over the past three months.) I hope Scott had a nice vacation and he gets back ready to put the hockey stick to the rumors of the demise of Sun, mostly because of NT. (Although I don't remember where I read this, but, apparently Bill really dislikes Scott and only characterises the rest of Scott's ilk as bothersome.) However, I think we are also seeing a bit of decoupling of the Wintel conspiracy, with Intel's stuff going into the bigger and better servers. That would leave Sun fighting on two fronts. Personally, I don't want to wait for Sun's rejoinders to these "perceptions(?)" much longer. The "Street" doesn't read technical journals.

Take care.
