You are entitled to your opinion that ..."Mr. Starr is a thorough and dogged prosecutor" I think he is a biased zealot who did not disclose his ties with the Jones attorneys when he sought the expansion of the investigation and he did not mention that the Tripp wire taps he used were illegal at that time. Normally a case would be thrown out at that point for such prosecutorial misconduct.

He was not entitled to detain Monica Lewinsky against her will or seek to intimidate her into obtaining incriminating evidence against the President with another wire tap. His "dogged" attempts to deny the President counsel and to force his advisors and attorneys to disclose their conversations were despicable. His leaks of the grand jury testimony are clearly illegal and demonstrates his excesses in his quest. He clear has a personal vendetta against Bill Clinton and his report to Congress did not contain any exculpable testimony that was available. This is not a complete list but generally, use of the power of the government and $40 million of our money to "get" a political and idealogical opponent is not, to my way of thinking, the democratic way. We will be left with this legacy as a precedent and now every future President can expect the opposition to use it. That is what I meant about his pursuing a single minded objective without regard for its consequences.

I don't think he has been vilified enough and he has done too well defending himself for his excesses.
