Not all news is either bearish or bullish. But each piece is part of the puzzle. If I told you that the volume of MU was 8.1 million shares, would that be bearish or bullish? Or would you want to know more, like whether the stock was up or down? This news is an indication of where Japan is, and what they are thinking. It is odd that they would make 128M chips. I don't recall any 32M chips. Or 8M chips. Or 2M chips. Or 512K chips. Etc. I don't suppose there is any reason they can't make the odd sizes, but historically DRAM goes up by a factor of 4, making the next step 256M. Because this is an unusual step it may be an indication of weakness rather than strength. Presumably they don't have the technology to get to 256M chips and have a competitive die size so they are taking a more modest step. If the market agrees that this is a sign of weakness, then it is good for MU. Carl
