Ahhaha,

Did I miss something?

You've been the lead Bull on ATHM until your last few posts. What did I miss (new FCC ruling?) that has changed your stance? Has an issue surfaced that will materially affect ATHM's survival?

I still believe the T merger would be a good thing. Unless I missed something I think the FCC will not interfere in cable modems to the point of negating the benefit to ATHM. If AOL gets on the pipe think about how quickly and large that pie will grow. Who would be the recipient of the AOL revenues? ATHM, TCI, T? As long as ATHM gets the funds I'm satisfied. Anything that makes that pie grow faster and pays ATHM makes me money. Sometimes it is better to eat smaller pieces from a bigger pie than to eat the whole pie by yourself.

Am I off base here?

On another note: The only difference between ATHM and AOL are the stupid chat boards and instant messages. Anyone can get the "custom interface" AOL has from Yahoo! ATHM should get down and dirty and buy ICQ (http://www.mirabilis.com/). Presto! Instant messages, chat capabilities and more. It fits very well with the always "ON" feature of cable. When you log on with your cable modem your ATHM ICQ will also launch and any of your contacts will know you're online and able to talk etc. As an added bonus, they can do it from any internet station regardless of the provider.

Regards,
Stuart
