SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 6, 1997--Alpha Pro Tech Ltd., (OTC: APTD) announced today that it had signed an agreement with Standard Textile Company Inc., a private company with headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The agreement calls for Alpha Pro Tech to provide labor, in the company's Mexican plants, toward the manufacturing of reusable apparel items, which comprise Standard Textile's main product line.

Specifically, the agreement calls for Alpha Pro Tech to provide Standard Textile with 4,000 hours per week of labor from the company's Mexican manufacturing facilities to sew reusable products. Alpha Pro Tech expects that over a twelve-month period, this agreement will produce revenues in the vicinity of $1.3 million.

Al Millar, president of Alpha Pro Tech commented, "We are very pleased with the Standard Textile agreement for several important reasons. First, it will have a positive impact on 1997 revenues and profit, but additionally it will add a new capability to our manufacturing process.

"With this agreement, Alpha Pro Tech now has the potential to be a manufacturer of both disposable and reusable items, thereby substantially increasing our potential market."

Millar continued, "The Standard Textile agreement should provide another element toward 1997 being an outstanding year of growth for Alpha Pro Tech."
