(Cisco mentioned to enter ADSL) Striding headlong into the fledgling xDSL market, Ascend Communications this week will announce its MultiDSL array of products and technology strategy. This move by a major player gives Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) technology a jolt and bodes well for its market growth. Vendors including 3Com, Bay Networks, Cisco, and U.S. Robotics are expected to come forward with DSL in the next few months, according to industry watchers.
