But Reagan did get us into the Gulf, on Iraq's side no less. He also got those 200-odd Marines into Lebanon, as "peacekeepers", while the New Jersey was lobbing 1-ton shells at the side we didn't hold with. Reagan took full responsibility for that last one.

It is unfair, of course, to blame Reagan directly for anything. Hard to say how many details he could follow on any of this. But somehow, I sort of doubt that Clinton randomly poked a pin in a map in deciding what to attack either. Who knows, though. If the decline of the west is all due to Clinton, as some would have it here, maybe that's how it went down.
