(AT&T does Cable Modems)

They better do something, Would it not be easier to go with DMT?

AT&T Corp. later this month will kick off a version of its
WorldNet Internet service that runs with cable modems,
iving users T-1 access speeds at costs closer to ISDN.

The service, dubbed Turbo WorldNet, will deliver data
to users at speeds between 1.5M bps and 2M bps,
according to sources close to the company.
Because cable modems can provide high data rates at
extremely low costs compared with current
technologies, cable-based Internet services hold great
appeal for corporate users. But corporations have
been reluctant to hand Internet services over to cable
companies, partly because of cable providers'
historically spotty service and poor billing practices.
