I located a Wal-Mart "super store". Waiting for news.

Also, the distribution market is changing with grocery store mergers and acquisitions. K-Mart is looking for a grocery store to acquire. It seems that the Wal-Mart "super stores" are generating great food sales. K-Mart, to stay competitive with Wal-Mart, needs to cut out the middleman suppliers (lower costs) and expand its distribution facilities. A move that a national grocerer just might accomplish.

Good Food Sales at the "super centers" better positions the Great Value Brand. I was not aware that a big push at these "super centers" are grocery food related. I initially thought these "super centers" were expanded space and larger isle type formats. Not grocery shopper focused.

Does anyone have info on the "super center" gowth plans? How many more stores can be expected in 1999?
