Isn't IBM a boxmaker? Why would they want to get into a bloody price war?

As far as an IBM warranty goes, a lot of good that will do you if an unreliable CPU chip freezes your system at 12 midnight. It's like having a 100,000 mile warranty on a car but it stalls and refuses to start on a deserted road at 3 a.m.
