On 1/6/96 - 300 April 7.5 calls traded in two blocks (200 in one and 100 in another)
On 1/7/96 - Block of 100 April 7.5 calls sold and 40 Jan 7.5 calls sold

As I stated, all I was doing was sharing my observation that the last time this type of volume occurred, news came out, the stock went up and some people made a nice profit. It was and is sheer speculation. It would be great for me and many others who are speculating if Borland were taken over tomorrow. Who knows? Also, you correctly pointed out some people might be hedging on short positions. Who knows? If you did know, it would be illegal to share. If you don't know, as I don't know, its no different than playing a speculation game based on past behavior that may or may not be predictive of future events.
