I understood all of your points but this one.

These are uneducated and uninvolved villagers, not military people. They are dying specifically as a result of no food and medicine. This is the choice of the US. It may be a misdirected slap at Saddam but he is not choosing it. If the inmate is Saddam here and the Warden is the US then why is the warden killing the innocent villagers.

The closest thing I can compare that to is torturing to death someone you love to gain your compliance. Would you accept that as a police tactic your community?
