Gary, as far as I know...

UBID does not collect commission. They auction merchandise from numerous manufacturers and resellers. EBAY collects a 10% commission on the sales made by auctioneers. However, the UBID model does not do this. They OWN the merchandise they are auctioning off. In that sense, I believe it is a disadvantage because uBid is forced to carry inventory of the merchandise they auction. However, as I mentioned in my initial post, uBid offers their customers and potential customers more stability because they the individuals who win an auction will definately have the deal consummated; unlike some EBAY auctioneers who refuse to honor their auctions to the winners of the auctions or like the EBAY bidders who refuse to honor the bid they made at an EBAY auction. uBid also offer warranty and extended warranty on their merchandise which is another plus for their customers. I believe the people who've experienced these situations at EBAY will realize that they can get the same type of deal at UBID and better service and stability on top of that.
