I regard this as a "boutique" company with a core value based on intellectual achievement and a faith in language translation as a growing necessity in worldwide commerce. I bought shares at $.70 following a recommendation by SmartMoney magazine in '93 or '94, then sold at a localized absolute peak ($2.00). This was an ideal trading stock, with great volatility within a generalized upward trend. I am now considering jumping back in since the stock has retreated significantly from its 1996 highs. Reading the latest SEC filing, I saw that revenue growth was a little spotty and that currency fluctuations are a major factor in the bottom line. Also, they go out of their way to make it known that the business is highly competitive (Berlitz??). I gather they are a top-flight organization, but it appears the internet play may be AILP's best hope to break out of its current trading range. Anyone have any ideas on the outlook for '97?
