M2, As of last week, I still have 5 beemer puts - that is it. But I have concluded that my reasoning is correct and so overwhelmingly supported by fact that I can no longer suspect / wish the "market" will overcome the forces at work. So, why fight it? I don't know about joining it yet.

The brighter bulbs that argue things are bad and should go down are beating their heads against a brick wall. The game is rigged with their own taxes and currency purchasing power decline, a pretty raw deal if you try and fight the game plan.

It reminds me of my first time going to the State Fair Midway with some buddies, no parents this time. Wise 13 year olds, we were. -g- A carny gets us into this game where we throw darts at balloons that have a slip of paper inside with a number on it. Pop enough balloons that the slips add up to over 100 and you win a HUGE prize. So we tried a couple tosses and we were at 60 points! Hey this is a sure winner! Well, 20 bucks later and we were at 80 points and gaining 1 or 2 points per toss. We finally quit as the combined treasury was getting frighteningly depleted.

As we sat down we started wondering how things could have gone so wrong. We reconstructed that on the first few high number tosses the carny just read the high scoring number and never showed us the slip. Once we got hooked, he started showing us the paper with a 1 or 2 on it. So we spied on the next suckers he took in and it all became clear. Then we went to the police trailer and explained what happened. The cop didn't even let us finish our sad tale and took us in tow to the carny. After a bit of rapid fire we were handed $24 by the carny (20% more than we thought we lost) and given a fatherly lecture by the cop about the ways of the world.

There are no cops watching over this Midway called Wall Street, unless someone actually waylays you with a sap or gun and outright robs you. And this Midway is much more sophisticated, and the longs are getting KeroCobbed(R) too. -nfg-
