Just another story about CPQ customer service. I bought a Perserio 2200 for my son last summer for $395. It arrived with a broken cd-rom door (cdrom worked fine, just didn't look to nice)

Since it was under a on-site warrantey I asked it have it fixed. Three days later a repairman drove 85 miles out here to replace the cdrom. (I live in the woods)

He apologized for not making it out in 24 hours, but he didn't have the part in stock. I figured CPQ lost $300 to fix it. The computer works perfectly and the people on the phone were great.

I'm always suspicious of people who have super big problems with companies' service departments when I have had a smooth experience. Tempers being what they are, I suspect Stockman's friend's experience might be a little bit exagerated.

The worst part of CPQ as far as I'm concerned is that the stock price is stuck in a 25-35 range for a year and a half. I'm told it might start moving this winter, but if it looks like a dog and barks like a dog, what should you call it?
