This thread is full of doubting Thomases that really belive Pentium/Nt is going to take over the world. I thought IBM was suppose to do that in the 80's and Zerox in the 70's. And about the Macintosh in the 80's??

I tend to believe the stock is depressed due to the fear of Pentium/NT. I also believe the fear is truly overblown.

To all the doubters on this thread, why don't you just short the stock. What an opportunity!!

As demand for technology progresses, faster more powerful machines will be required. Todays supercomputers will be tomorrows desktop pcs running basic applications that will require supercomputer power. Tomorrows supercomputers will be doing things we can't imagine today.

I seriously doubt Intel and Microsoft will take over the world. SGI's current backlog is a good indication they won't. Furthermore, todays stock pullback is minor compared to the runup from $17 over the last 6 weeks.
