Why MSFT does not take counterfeiters to the court? Their management
knows how to handle this kind of situation properly. The best
strategy is to make enemy your friend, the worst is the other way
around.

When MSFT found some group of people infringe their property rights,
they approach them kindly. MSFT hire the other party as its
distributor, and the market share increased as a result. At the same
time, MSFT comes back to do research carefully about how to prevent
future counterfeiting by the others. As time goes by, we find out that
not much MSFT counterfeiters. While NOVL goes to court again and
again to make enemies, which otherwise would be potential friends,
and collect dusts.
