I have just spent the last five days at the Gulf IT Exhibition and European Oracle User group here in Dubai. We had set up a demo of the announced Compaq Oracle Parallel Server Product, PDC/O1000 in a two-node 1850R environment. It works really well. Had a lot of fun powering down one or the other servers and watching the clients switch over and keep on running. Unlike MSCS it load shares automatically. A real shared DB and external storage as opposed to MS' shared-nothing environment. Pretty exciting! It generated a lot of interest from major customers, including some of the Oil Companies. H
