ENGIBOUS AND APPLETON ARE FEATURED SPEAKERS AT SIA'S 22ND FORECAST and Award Dinner Nov. 11

PR Wire
November 2, 1998, 12:49 p.m. PT

Thomas Engibous of Texas Instruments and Steven Appleton of Micron
Technology will be the featured speakers at the Semiconductor Industry
Association's 22nd annual Forecast and Award Dinner Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the
San Jose Fairmont Hotel.

Engibous, Chairman, President and CEO of Texas Instruments, is the
evening's keynote speaker. Appleton, who is Chairman, President and CEO of
Micron, will provide the SIA Forecast for global semiconductor sales in 1999,
2000, and 2001.

During the dinner, the SIA will also present the industry's highest honor,
the Robert N. Noyce Award, to two giants of the industry: W.J. Sanders III,
Chairman and CEO of Advanced Micro Devices; and Wilfred Corrigan, Chairman and
CEO of LSI Logic Corporation.

Prior to the dinner -- at 4 p.m. -- several members of the SIA Board of
Directors will host a press conference at the Fairmont Hotel to discuss the
industry's economic outlook and other topical issues.

Since the 1,000-plate dinner is a sell-out, it is imperative that members
of the media register with the SIA to guarantee a seat at the press conference
and dinner.

CONTACT: Media who have not registered should call Karen Snow at the SIA,
408-573-6612, prior to Nov. 5.
