George, What is is Undeniably true. The problem is that what is ain't what it used to be. And when what is is, or might be, cancer, it's pretty tough not to fret. Your problems with, or about, aging are so immediate. Mine are too. I don't mind the hair falling out - at least it doesn't turn grey - but it's hard to contemplate the notion that my son will soon be able to run farther and faster than I can. That's when I'll know I'm old. But he'll have to practice a bit. the only immediate-ness I can find in our lives is that of a staccato pinprick of all-ness. For me the immediate is about all there is, or at least all that I'm willing to contemplate. Shallow, I suppose, but I can live with it. :o) Steve
