hi doc, Finally, some news on the development of the German portal with Deutsche Telekom, Axel Springer Verlag, and Verlagsgruppe Georg von Holtzbrinck. There was an announcement yesterday afternoon stating that the portal will be ready next spring: Infoseek Germany is expected to launch in the second quarter of calendar year 1999 and will provide localized search, navigation and content services to the largest and fastest growing online audience in Europe. The four companies will manage the new venture and will share profits generated by the new Internet site. But it's this other article that really caught my attention: infoseek.com Springer states that they are selling their joint stake (with Bertelsmann) in AOL and concentrating on their joint venture with Infoseek.
